As the chief executive of aka, Londonís largest theatrical marketing agency, I am thrilled to welcome you to London at a hugely exciting time for the capital. The recently released Society of London Theatre box office figures have shown that throughout 2012 Theatreland continued to beat the odds and break records, with both ticket revenue and attendance up on previous years.

2013 is already shaping up to be a massive year for London. The impact of the phenomenal spotlight that London received in 2012 has confirmed it as the greatest city in the world for live entertainment, arts and culture.

2013 will also be an outstanding year as itís the busiest period in recent history for the opening of major shows and theatre events. The next twelve months sees the return to the stage of stars like Helen Mirren, Kristin Scott Thomas, James McAvoy, Kim Cattrall and Lee Evans, the exciting Michael Grandage season, the National Theatreís West End transfer of smash-hit The Curious Incident of the Dog at the Night-time and the opening of four major musicals, namely Tony-winners A Chorus Line, The Book of Mormon and Once as well as the hotly anticipated, Sam Mendes-directed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

On top of this, established, long running crowd favourites like Billy Elliot The Musical, 39 Steps, War Horse, Jersey Boys, Matilda The Musical, Woman in Black and Stomp will continue to thrill and entertain audiences. No matter what you enjoy, there really is something for everyone in London. So please do enjoy your latest edition of the magazine Ė and have fun!
